🌱 Description
Westringia fruticosa is a hardy Australian native shrub with attractive grey-green, narrow foliage and small white to pale lavender flowers. It is excellent for hedges, borders, screening and coastal gardens and performs particularly well in Perth’s warm, dry climate.

☀️ Care in Perth
Position: Full sun to light shade. Full sun gives the best compact growth and flowering.
Soil: Well-drained soil is essential. It tolerates sandy and relatively poor soils once established.
Watering: Water regularly while establishing. Once established, it is quite drought tolerant, but occasional deep watering during Perth’s hot summers will keep it looking fuller.
Pruning: Prune lightly after flowering or whenever needed to maintain a dense, attractive shape. It responds well to regular trimming and is excellent as a hedge.
Fertiliser: Apply a slow-release native plant fertiliser in spring. Avoid heavy applications of phosphorus.
