Traveller’s Palm is an excellent statement and feature plant for tropical and contemporary landscapes. Its enormous fan-shaped leaves create an instant resort-style appearance and make it an outstanding focal point.

🌤️ Care in Perth
Perth’s warm summers can suit Traveller’s Palm, but winter temperatures and cold conditions require some consideration. It is a tropical plant and is frost-sensitive, so choose a warm, sheltered position.
Position: Full sun to partial shade. A sheltered location is best.
Soil: Rich, fertile and well-drained soil. Improve sandy Perth soil with compost and organic matter before planting.
Water: Keep consistently moist during establishment and through Perth’s hot, dry summer. Avoid waterlogging.
Mulch: Apply a good layer of organic mulch around the root zone to help retain moisture and keep the roots cooler.
Fertiliser: Apply a quality slow-release fertiliser during the warmer growing period to encourage lush, healthy foliage.
Wind: Protect from strong winds because the large leaves can become shredded.
Important: This is a large tropical feature plant, so consider its eventual size before planting close to buildings, fences or narrow garden areas.
