Strelitzia juncea is an excellent plant for Perth’s climate.
Position:
🌞 Best in full sun to light shade. Full sun generally produces a stronger, more compact plant and encourages flowering.
Soil:
Use well-drained soil. It tolerates Perth’s sandy soils once established, although adding organic matter before planting will improve growth.
Water:
💧 Water regularly while establishing. Once established, it is relatively drought tolerant. Occasional deep watering during hot Perth summers will keep it looking healthier.
