Description
Sapodilla is a long-lived tropical evergreen fruit tree native to southern Mexico and Central America. It produces sweet, brown, round to oval fruits with soft, caramel-flavoured flesh often compared to brown sugar, pear, and malt. It is an excellent choice for warm gardens in Perth’s coastal and frost-free areas.
Fruit
- Brown, rough skin with creamy to reddish-brown flesh.
- Very sweet with a rich caramel flavour.
- Best eaten fresh when fully ripe.
- Contains several shiny black seeds (unless seedless varieties).

- Height: 4-5 m (can be kept at 3 m with pruning)
