How to Look After in Perth
● Water deeply 1–2 times per week during the first summer.
● Once established, it is moderately drought tolerant but flowers best with occasional deep watering.
● Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser in early spring and again after flowering.
● Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch away from the stem.
General Maintenance
● Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage dense growth.
● Tie new shoots onto supports as they develop.
● Remove dead or tangled stems when required.
● Watch for aphids or scale insects and treat if necessary.
