🌿 Main features
☀️ Care in Perth
Position: Full sun to part shade. Full sun encourages a denser, stronger plant.
Soil: Adaptable to most well-drained soils, including sandy Perth soils. Improve very poor soil with compost before planting.
Water: Water regularly while establishing. Once established, Lomandra is quite drought tolerant, although occasional deep watering during Perth’s hottest periods will keep the foliage healthier.
Fertiliser: Apply a controlled-release native fertiliser in spring. Avoid high-phosphorus fertilisers.
Pruning: Usually requires very little pruning. If the foliage becomes tired or damaged, it can be cut back hard in late winter/early spring to encourage fresh new growth.
