🌿 Main Features

☀️ How to Care for It in Perth
Position:
Choose full sun to part shade. Full sun generally encourages stronger growth and better flowering. A warm, sheltered position is ideal.
Soil:
Plant in well-drained, fertile soil. Improve poor Perth sandy soil with quality compost and organic matter before planting.
Watering:
- Water regularly while establishing.
- During Perth’s hot, dry summer, give deep watering to maintain healthy foliage.
- Once established, it becomes relatively drought tolerant, but regular summer watering produces much better growth.
- Reduce watering during winter when the soil stays wetter.
Fertiliser:
Apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser in spring and again in summer. A layer of compost or quality organic fertiliser around the plant can also help maintain vigorous growth.
Wind:
Large leaves can tear in strong winds, so a sheltered position helps keep the plant looking attractive.
Pruning:
Remove old, damaged or yellow leaves from the base. Avoid excessive pruning because the large foliage is one of its main features.
