Height & width
A standard bougainvillea is usually maintained around 1.2–2 m tall, depending on the trunk height and pruning. The canopy can reach approximately 1–1.5 m wide if allowed to develop.
Growing in Perth
Plant in full sun with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Use a well-drained soil; avoid constantly wet roots. Water deeply during establishment, then reduce watering once established.
Feed during the growing season with a flowering fertiliser. Avoid excessive high-nitrogen fertiliser, as this can encourage leafy growth instead of flowers.
