Description | Originating in India and southern China, Rhaphiolepis indica Alba is an evergreen shrub, also known as ‘Indian Hawthorn’. With dark green oblong shape foliage, and white star shaped fragrant flowers which bloom from spring to summer. An ideal screen, hedge or specimen plant, can also be grown in large pots and planters. Water well until established, and once established is quite drought tolerant. Rhaphiolepis indica alba prefers full sun and fertile, well drained slightly acidic soil. A reasonably low maintenance shrub, fertilise yearly, and prune after flowering to encourage new growth. Rhaphiolepis indica alba can grow to a height of up to 2.5 metres and a width of up to 2 metres. |
